Grayson Engineering (2015) Limited

Grayson Engineering has been in business since 1972, employs approximately 200 people, and has annual revenues in excess of NZ$55 million.
It has one of the most modern equipped structural, plate and mechanical fabrication workshops in New Zealand, including the only CNC structural and plate fabrication machinery of its type in NZ. Through the use of automation, far higher rates of fabrication output can be achieved than from traditional fabrication methods. Grayson Engineering has a practice of ongoing investment in new technology and machinery across detail drawing and fabrication activities, to continuously improve quality, cost efficiency, and delivery service. Buckling restrained brace (BRB) represents a modern approach to lateral bracing systems. It was introduced in New Zealand in 2000 and has gained popularity, particularly after the Canterbury earthquakes, for the construction of new buildings and strengthening projects due to several advantages. Grayson Engineering, in collaboration with NCREE, is producing BRBs for both the New Zealand market and global markets.

Grayson Engineering has a partnership with NCREE.
Once we are provided with schematic drawings and technical specifications on the type of BRB required, we run preliminary checks to ensure that we can provide a BRB that complies. We have an advanced pricing spreadsheet that enables firm pricing to be submitted in a timely manner. Detailed design is performed by our experienced BRB engineers, and Grayson Engineering then produces the fabrication drawings for the BRB and also the connection plates that the BRB attaches to. We can provide designs for Bolted, Pinned, or Welded end slot type BRBs.
